Hydra, Valerio Savino’s Comet 36s, is dominating the fleet at the Bari 2025 Winter Championship. Hydra made a quiet debut with a DNS, followed by two first-place finishes and a second in the final race. These results were enough to secure the overall victory, with a two-point lead over Anda Ya and three points ahead of Biba.
A great satisfaction for the owner and his crew, who train constantly and study all possible upgrades with great dedication to make the Comet 36s even more efficient.“On the last day, we pulled ahead of the rest of the fleet by over 15 minutes after just three tacks, before a sudden drop in wind caused us to fall back almost 27 minutes. Then, gusts reaching up to 28/30 knots pushed us straight to the finish line in second place in real time,” says Savino.
The passion and dedication of Hydra’s team have caught the attention of Il Sole 24 Ore, which dedicated nearly a full page to Hydra in the newspaper. “With my entire team, we’re happy to have won the championship with a boat bought for holidays,” concludes the owner.Hydra C36s’ upcoming events include: Est 105 starting on May 1, 2025; the Santa Maria di Leuca Champions Cup from May 16 to 18; Brindisi-Corfu’ departing on June 8, 2025; and the Brindisi – Vlorë race at the beginning of July.Go Hydra!
