Two Comets keep standing out on the racing scene: the C38 Farheneit owned by Giuseppe Massoni and the C41 Aria owned by Carlo Alfano. The two yachts faced each other at the Riva – Montecristo regatta, where Farheneit claimed first place both in ORC and IRC, while Aria secured an excellent third place in ORC.
“Farheneit is a perfectly standard Comet 38, but it’s really well tuned,” says Massoni. “We managed to fight for line honours, and ending up at the top of both IRC and ORC rankings is a great satisfaction. We’d like to be back on the water for ‘La Giraglietta’, but the heart of our racing season remains between April and June”.
On the other hand, Carlo Alfano, owner of Aria, has no intention of setting up his boat for cruising. “The boat is very fast and I had a lot of fun at the Lunga Bolina, the Coppa Regina dei Paesi Bassi and of course the Riva – Montecristo,” Alfano explains. “After many regattas sailing alongside my friend Paolucci, now we’re direct rivals and it feels great to keep up with him using a boat that carries its years so dynamically. I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world” the owner concludes enthusiastically.
