At 6:00 AM this morning, Comar Yachts launched its new flagship, the C-Cat 65. The 21-meter-long and 9.20-meter-wide maxi catamaran touched the water, lifted by a crane, fully revealing its sleek, streamlined, and rounded lines—designed to be a fast, comfortable, and stylish multihull. Its sand-golden color did not go unnoticed, becoming increasingly radiant as the sun rose. “It’s the result of the work of about fifty people, totaling around 40,000 hours over the past two years, and over 4,000 hours of project development shared among the Shipyard’s Technical Office, designer Enrico Contreas, the engineering firm Naval Design for the structural and hydrodynamic aspects, and Amadio & Partners,” explained Massimo Guardigli of Comar Yachts. “This launch marks an important moment for the Fiumicino shipyard: the C-Cat 65 is currently the largest sport-cruise catamaran under construction in Italy.” While the shipyard completes the interior fittings of this unit, which will be showcased at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Technical Office is preparing to begin construction of the second unit, destined for the United States. “It’s wonderful that it was built entirely in Italy, in Fiumicino: a sign of revival for one of the most iconic destinations in the world of recreational boating,” added Guardigli.
