An unbreakable, and above all unbeatable, pair. Actually, a trio: Leonardo Servi, Ciccio Manzoli and Scricca Comet 38s. The story is well known: Leonardo buys Scricca, optimises her for racing, wins a good number of regattas and then sells her. A few years pass, he searches the market and finds his Scricca again, a little dated (launched in 2010) but still sound. He buys her back, gives her a “touch-up” and with his inseparable Ciccio returns to the racecourses, this time decidedly double-handed. And what do they do? They keep winning, schooling many boats, even the newest ones.

This time they dominated the 151 Miglia in ORC C, the largest class, and among DH boats they beat 14 rivals. A great satisfaction, winning over a course as beautiful as it was made tricky by weather conditions that forced the Race Committee to shorten the course for lack of wind , and the thrill of being on the water among the 191 boats taking part.

The tight-knit team thought it wise to do a training session before heading off to the race, and Ciccio put in a masterly start. To read their account of the 151Miglia … https://www.giornaledellavela.com/2026/06/02/comet-38-s-scricca-151-miglia/
