It’s a second-place finish worth celebrating for Pippo Ercole aboard his *Orcamisera C Cat 48* in the Round Aeolian Race – Catamarans, a thrilling competition that saw seven multihulls battle it out amidst the breathtaking Aeolian Islands. “It felt like a mini America’s Cup,” Ercole exclaimed enthusiastically. “An adrenaline-filled start, catamarans shoulder to shoulder, tight matchups, and pure fun.” The Aeolian Islands provided a stunning backdrop and perfect conditions for the race, with a well-equipped port offering all the amenities needed, including hotels, supermarkets, a ship chandler, and waterfront restaurants. Ercole was quick to praise his *C Cat 48*, a boat that continues to impress with its performance, and his top-tier crew. Notable among them was Amedeo, who flew in from Sardinia, alongside experienced sailors like Oscar, Amerigo Guardigli, and Mambo. “Despite it being only our second race together, we were highly competitive,” added the skipper. The race proved to be a tough testing ground, with seven catamarans, three of which were pure racing machines, all vying for victory. After a strategic start, leveraging a grecale wind and later harnessing the mistral to navigate the islands, Orcamisera C Cat 48  held the lead for much of the race. “We tested every type of sailing condition,” explained Amerigo Guardigli, “and stayed among the leaders for two-thirds of the race.” With such fierce competition and stunning scenery, the Round Aeolian Race once again delivered a truly exhilarating sailing experience.
