There’s always a first time. And this time, it’s one to remember: at the 151 Miglia, one of the most iconic offshore races in the Mediterranean, the multihull class makes its official debut.
And who’s on the starting line, ready to challenge both the wind and the norm? Our C-CAT 48s, of course: Gaia, by Marco Negri, and Orcamiseria, by Giuseppe “Pippo” Ercole, are not just there to make up the numbers. Orcamiseria comes in strong with a second place finish at the 2024 Italian Multihull Championship, while Gaia arrives battle-tested after a packed racing season and an excellent sixth place overall in the latest Riva x Tutti. In short, they’re not the type to get caught off guard. But the catamarans aren’t the only stars of the Comar fleet stepping onto the prestigious stage of the 151 Miglia. The Yard shows up with a head-turning lineup (especially for the competition): among the Comet C36s is Ide&A by Mirko Nencioni; in the C38s Scricca by Leonardo Servi/Merlini/Bianchi and Otaria by Marco Paoletti; in the C41s Nambawan by Mario Imparato, Valis by Andrea Pescatori, Polaris by Mario Poli and Acciuga by Giovanni Cravetto; among the C45s Ireal by Alberto Pagliano and Tevere Remo Lola by Massimo Artusi; and wrapping things up, the Genesi 43s Galatea by Massimo Artusi and Krill by Fabio Fabiani. A fleet that not only fills us with pride, but confirms that Comar’s DNA is made to race and made for the sea.
